There is a trio that qualifies as Contemporary Christian Music’s Divas. These three ladies are Chanelle Haynes, Angel Taylor and Adrian Anderson. Together the make up the gospel groove group Trin-i-tee 5:7. The group has a brand new album out that is sure to please all kinds of music fans, Christian or secular. The title of the album is The Kiss. It was released by B-Rite Music and distributed by Gospo Centric Records
The Kiss has sixteen songs on it. From groove songs like Holla to slow praise tunes like The One For Me, this album has a wide range of music.
The album was produced by PAJAM, who has worked with Boys II Men, N’Sync and Dorinda Clark-Cole. Also working on the album were people like Shep Crawford, Uncle Freddie Jerkins, Travon Potts and Calvin & Dre.
The first song on The Kiss is a remix of the song Holla. This song is a dance track that features J. Moss. It has some real good dance music along with its message and does a really cool fade at the end.
Next the girls slow it down with Lord. It is a praise song detailing that without God’s love we would be lost. With A Kiss is a slow song about love and betrayal.
Dance Like Sunday is another dance tune, although it is a little slower than Holla. It is about getting up and praising the Lord with your spirit and dancing abilities. “Dance like it was Sunday and praise him in a new way” is one of the lyrics in the song. What He Wants deals with being what God wants us to be and not what people thinks we should be.
Sixteen Again was a song that was written by the group. It is about a lost love coming back into a woman’s life. In a recent published interview, Chanelle Haynes explained a little bit about the song. She said that some Christians feel that romantic love is not acceptable. The song is an attempt to let people know that you can have romance and still stay true to what God wants for us.
A surprisingly wonderful song on the album is People Get Ready. I hadn’t heard the song in a long time. This is ‘70’s era song about getting ready to go to heaven.
Other songs on the album are The One For Me, Rescue Me, Wish, Greater Than You and Me, All of my Life and Here 4 U. There are a couple of vocal Interludes on the album. And the last song on the album is the regular version of Holla.
The Kiss showcases the immense talents of what has been termed as “gospel music’s first girl group.”
From dance tunes to soulful praise music, The Kiss has a little bit of everything. With classics like People Get Ready to new music like Holla and Sixteen Again, Trin-i-tee 5:7 gives back to the world the talents that God has provided for them.
