About six months ago, Anime 18 released a DVD disc that featured two girls, Miko and Yaku, in an adult rated anime tale called La Blue Girl Returns: Demon Seed. Now they are back with another one. This one is called La Blue Girl Returns: Shikima Lust. Anime 18 is a division of Central Park Media.

As I mentioned in my review of Demon Seed, this series is about sex and monsters. Not your average PG-13 or R rated sex either. This is buck naked, triple triple X rated animation; basically animated porn. I thought that the plot might improve as the series progressed, but it didn’t. The show is still about shoving things into orifices and the like.

This time out Miko is trying to find a path to the Shikima Brain, as dictated by her father. She gets help to hook up a computer and start a web site to draw in people who might know how to get onto the path to the Shikima Brain. The brother of a friend starts helping and Miko falls for him. It seems Maho might be a lot more than he looks like. Is he in league with the Shikima?

The strange character or Nin-Nin is back. This sexually frustrated robot can get on anyone’s nerves and definitely gets on Miko’s.

The show was produced by Brahman and Green Bunny. It was written by Megumi Hititsuyanagi and directed by Yoshito Fujimoto. The folks on the English Language side of things are Dick Tripwire as the Dubbing Supervisor and Sho Nuff as DVD Coordinator. Real names? I think not. These guys like to make up names just like in the live action porn flicks.

Some of the extras that are included on the disc are Sneek Peeks of other adult rated material from Anime 18, Scene Selections and Language Selection. You can either view the show in English or Japanese with English sub titles. There are also Storyboards, a sketch gallery, a commercial for the Big Apple Animefest and a preview of the La Blue Girl comic book. And there is a short documentary on what anime is.

As this is adult material, the film shouldn’t be viewed by anyone under 18. As a matter of fact, there are disclaimers about the ages of the characters portrayed in the show. The disc even has a Parental Control Preset of NC-17. There is graphic violence, vulgar language and over the top graphic sexual encounters.

Does Shikima Lust have any redeeming value? Don’t kid yourself. There is a specific market out there for adult rated anime and this title fits right in the middle of it They have taken the old “good versus evil” ploy, added wanton sex and violence, shook it up in a bag and poured it out for viewers to watch. If this is your cup of tea, so be it.
