Back in the early '80's, I hooked into a band calling themselves Def Leppard. I had their album Pyromania and about wore the vinyl off playing it so many times. Now it is almost two decades later. I have rediscovered Def Leppard with their album Euphoria.
One of the slow ballads on the album is Goodbye. He is telling a woman that his heart is dedicated to her forever. If the sun doesn't shine he'll still be there. "Just look into my eyes, you won't ever have to say goodbye."
A song about making love with your woman is called All Night. He likes a woman who'll be the aggressor. The song has a funky beat.
Tracks like Paper Sun lay down a strong backbeat that's reminiscent of their earlier work on Pyromania. 21st Century Sha La La La Girl is a funky little song about a way out girl.
Other songs on Euphoria include To Be Alive, Guilty, Day After day, Kings Of Oblivion and It's Only Love.
Three of the best songs are the first ones. Demolition Man has a fast paced run through. Back In your Face is talking about being back on the scene and not going away. Promises is about making a commitment that's for life.
Peter Woodroffe produced euphoria along with the band. Members of the band include Vivian Campbell at guitar and vocals, Rick "Sav" Savage at Bass Guitar and Vocals and Phil Collen at guitar and vocals. Then there is Rick Allen at drums. Allen lost his left arm in an accident a few years ago, so it's quite an accomplishment for him to be able to play. And finally, there is Joe Elliot at Lead Vocals.
Euphoria proves that once a band fades away it is really never gone and can come back stronger than before. Pick up a copy of Euphoria and add it to your collection of classic rock bands.
