Mat Hoffman Pro BMX 2 is one of the hottest selling console games right now. For those players who don’t so good or just want an extra edge while playing the game, BradyGames has just the thing for you. They have published the Mat Hoffman Pro BMX 2 Official Strategy Guide. If you have ever used one of these guides, you know that they are very detailed and very good.
Doug Walsh was the guy who wrote this guide, along with the assistance of the gang at Activision’s O2 division and the staff at BradyGames.
The book is in full color glossy, with 112 pages. There are seven sections along with an Intro.
In the first section you will learn the game basics. Find out what the types of one and two player games are available to play. There is a chart that shows which button is used on both the PS2 and Xbox for a particular function.
Then the book moves right into the Trick List. Here you will find all of the tricks that can be performed and how many points each is worth. A Toothpick grind only has a Point Incrementer of 450, whereas the Magic Carpet had a Point Incrementer of 700. In this section you will also find out how the game scores the tricks that you perform.
The Road Warriors section provides you will the bikes and tricks for each of the Pro BMX riders that are in the game. Look at the Bikes chart for Simon Tabron and you will find that his Swing Leg trick is worth 2500 Base Points, where Kevin Robinson’s Pendulum trick is only 1250 Base Points.
Next you will find the maps and Gap listings for each place for the Road Trip. You will learn about doing a Manual on the Crooked Bench and grabbing 2000 points by Ridin’ the Metro.
There is one page on the Park Editor. It probably should have been a little bit more about the editor, but most people will be able to figure things out pretty quick. There are three pages on Xbox extras. And of course you get a few pages about the secrets in the game.
If you want to play Mat Hoffman Pro BMX 2 a lot better than your friends, then you need to go grab a copy of this book. It has everything you need to get up and moving playing the game, except real playing abilities.
Look for the book wherever gamer’s books are sold. You can also order from BradyGames at www.BradyGames.com.
