Bob's Feeling Blue

Bruce Von Stiers

Bob Bradshaw was born in Ireland but has been in the U.S. for quite some time. He is a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter.

This Americana styled artist has performed hundreds of times over the years. And he has recorded nine albums. Now Bradshaw has a new album coming out. This album is titled The Art of Feeling Blue.

The album has twelve songs and has a play time of forty-three minutes. It was produced by Bob and his band. The album is being released by Fluke Records.

Bob did the lead vocals on the album and played acoustic guitar. Andrew Stern played both electric and acoustic guitars. Andy Santospago was on electric/ lap steel guitar and keys and did background vocals. John Sheeran was on bass. Mike Connors played the drums and Scoop McGuire was on bass and keys. James Rohr was also on keys. Chad Manning played the fiddle and Jimmy Ryan played the mandocello. Jacob Valenzuela played the trumpet and Jef Charland helped out on bass. Zachariah Hickman did the mellotron and helped out on keys. Additional drummers on the album were Dave Brophy and Dave Westner. And Kris Delmhorst provided backing vocals.

Waiting is the first song on the album. It is about a guy whose love is making him waiting for her. But maybe she's moved on. The song has a kind of Tom Petty feel to it.

Everybody's Smalltime Now has some cool music. The song takes someone down a peg or two because of what they tried to act like.

The title track, The Art of Feeling Blue, is a melodic, sad tune. He observes that he's not as tough as one might think, and is blue most of the time.

Hot In The Kitchen is a toe-tapping tune about two people who seemingly don't get along. But is there a romance in there someplace?

I Keep It Hid is about hiding his true feelings.

Rosa is an interesting ballad. It has a touch of old style Western movie soundtrack flair.

The Silk Road Caravan is another ballad type of song. It is slow, with some nice background music and backing vocals.

Thought I Had A Problem has a toe-tapping beat.

Let Sleeping Gods Lie has some really cool music and cool backing vocals in it.

Other songs on the album include Somebody Told Me A Lie, I Know A Place and Stepping Stones.

The Art of Feeling Blue is definitely an interesting album. Several of the songs tell tales of love, loss and not feeling the best you can be.

The Art of Feeling Blue is set to be released on June 16 th .
