Noisy Neighbors

Bruce Von Stiers

What happens when you have noisy neighbors and you're trying to sleep? That is the foundation of the short comedy film Bed Time.

A man and his wife are in bed, sleeping. The husband gets woken up by their next door apartment neighbors, who are having an argument. The neighbor is accusing his wife of having sex with the pool boy and she's accusing him of sleeping with his secretary.

As things move forward, a couple of other people can be heard arguing next door. All the while our guy in bed is trying to get back to sleep. And his wife seems not to be bothered by the noise. Even after cops show up next door, shots are fired and somehow a helicopter is added to the mix.

The sleep deprived husband was played by Jack Baca. He's voiced characters in a few video games and has appeared in a couple of short films. The wife was played by Bianca Giselle. She starred in the horror film Unlocked and the short comedy Incoming Missile!

The people next door, who never appear on camera, were voiced by Melanie Ehrlich, James Mount, Barrett Leddy, Alec Lawless, Mike Pollock, Alex Weitzman, Hilary Wartinger, Shelley Regner and Kaylin Zeren.

The film was produced and directed by T.C. De Witt. He's been the screenwriter for a Friday the 13th film in addition to well over a hundred other screen credits as screenwriter, actor and producer. The cinematography was done by Matt Rasku. He did the cinematography on several other short films, has acted in a few and has produced a half dozen films as well. The screenwriter for the film was Andy Danish.

Bed Time might seem a bit over the top. But if you've ever had extremely noisy neighbors, you can easily relate the situation as it unfolds in the film. I especially liked the fact that there was a slight twist at the end of the film.

Bed Time is an official selection for this year's upcoming Santa Clarita International Film Festival.
