A Captive Audience for James

Rob and James seem to be roommates. But James appears to be getting on Rob's nerves. Then Jessica shows up to buy some drugs from James and he learns about a party that night that a supposed close friend is having.

This sets off a string of dangerous psychological moments that is the premise for a short thriller film titled Bay for Blood.

Jessica comes back to get some more drugs and James tries to put the moves on her. But it goes nowhere, and Jessica becomes a little freaked out at James' aggressiveness. Jessica learns that Rob is in the apartment, but what is going on? Is Rob there hanging out or is there something else going on?

Jessica comes back to try to rescue Rob, but things turn out a bit different than she'd planned.

David Neylon is James. He has co-starred in several short films and was a unit production manager for several episodes of a Disney television series.

Jasper Hammer is Rob. He starred in the thriller film All Eyes and has appeared in films such as the drama, The Chest.

Isaly Viana is Jessica. She has appeared in Chicago Med, Chicago PD and The Chi.

Actors portraying the neighbors who show up at the end of the film include Natara Easter, Drew Hellmich, Chris Haney, Lazar Karov, Lorin Craft and Melanie Deprest.

Harry Waldman was the screenwriter and director for the film. His previous credits include the comedy crime adventure In The Backseat and the horror mystery Enter The Room. The cinematographer was Lance Eliot Adams, who worked with Waldman on In The Backseat and Enter The Room.

Bay for Blood is a very strange and unusual psychological thriller. You might guess what's going on, but maybe not. I wasn't sure I understand the film completely until the very end..

The film has garnered some attention at film festivals. Hammer was nominated for Best Actor for the film at the Indie Horror Film Festival in Chicago, and won the Best Actor award at the HALO International Film Festival. Neylon won the Award of Merit at both the Southern Shorts Awards and the Cinema World Fest Awards. And Viana was nominated for Best Actress at the Couch Film Festival. The director, Waldman, won the Best Director award at the same festival.

Bay for Blook is an official selection at the upcoming Santa Clarita International Film Festival.
